I kinda wan't to understand the reason why mirrored furniture was such a hit and why people choose it but my brain just won't filter it through. When you look at it I guess it can in a way resemble a "glamorous" interior or make it seem elegant. But the thing with mirrored furniture is the same issue I have with the colour grey. If over done it looks tacky and the worst part is it almost always paired with a grey wall!

Mirrored furniture simply does its job by reflecting its surroundings but this is where the problem lies. It creates clutter and it's so in your face that you just can't relax. Just because you buy set pieces of furniture doesn't mean it matches. This is a concept I hope every interior designer lives by. In order for a room to "match" all pieces of furniture don't have to be the same. It's all about the flow and connection. Not copy and paste.

And I know I might be attacking some people personally. But ever since covid hit and I spent all of my time in my house I realised how important it is to declutter your room but also use calming decor and vibes. Especially in the bedroom as this is the place you want to relax and get a good nights sleep.

Mirrored furniture can look really cool on pictures and Pinterest but in reality elements like this look different. Your eye circles the room just because there is so much stuff reflecting.

Its going out of style, its an a-hole to keep up and clean and it definitely does not make your house look expensive or glamourous. Today's "rich look" is different and not so in your face anymore and definitely doesn't involve mirrored furniture. I guess you can say this is an individual thing and some people like and some don't but before you buy mirrored furniture, reconsider.

I don't think you would want your room to resemble in any way a mirrored labyrinth where you don't know which reflection is the one to not stub your toe or run into. Just go to an art exhibition for that or just hang the dang mirror on the wall.

I wouldn't mind if mirrored furniture had a comeback in like 10 years or so with a whole new aesthetic to it, in a more art deco style. As I am assuming this mirrored furniture trend was inspired by Great Gatsby but I think it could do with a modern twist based on art deco. I think Leo would be proud. Could you agree?
